Hannah Mirza of SunBum Thrift…. How She Built Her Buis into an Influential Platform.

I interviewed Hannah Mirza of @sunbumthrift yesterday and left the call feeling excited, refreshed and happy to be doing what I do. Talking to positive, energetic people like Hannah are really what motivates me to do more of these interviews. Not only is she super genuine and fun to talk to, but she single handedly runs a thrifting and embroidery business that has over 21k followers.

Hannah, a freshman in college, began her business in 2019 after moving from Maryland to Tampa, Florida. This move and her new environment inspired her business’ name: SunBum Thrift. Three months after starting, she had 10k followers. Hannah’s built a growing platform that promotes sustainability and can help her build her future; I think we can all get behind that.

Her goal?

“To spread some sort of positivity. Having a big platform, I can help use it for good.”

Hannah really believes her business thrives off of the positive energy she creates. She is constantly interacting with customers and building relationships with others. I have to say, positive energy is something I feed off of as well. I think energy can make or break a business. It’s all about becoming a business people want to interact with.

Hannah lives by a mindset her dad taught her. Ever since she was little, her dad has said “whatever you do, do it slowly and be patient.”  Especially now that Hannah is getting older, she notices how important it is to slow down and do things well.

Hannah does have to deal with critics, like most businesses do. She’s even experienced racial comments and insensitive remarks. Her advice? Just ignore it.

“They’re all talk behind the screen, but face to face they'd never say anything. So just delete it.”

Hannah is launching her website on December 31st. New year….new branding am I right? Building a website is not easy- make sure to show her support!

I am so thankful to be able to talk with such a bright, caring, driven person and am super excited to see where Hannah’s future takes her. I know I'll be supporting her every step of the way.

Let’s show her some love.
